Kids and Families

At Lakes, we believe that every child is created in the image of God, and as such has a divine capacity to think, learn, serve and exist. Kids have an innate ability to have faith in, to hear from and to trust in God. It's our privilege, along with you, to nurture and walk alongside your kids in their journey with God.

Every week we want to create an environment where young people can encounter God, learn the big story of the Bible and discover their God given gifts and talents, while providing opportunities to serve the family using those gifts and talents.

LAKES'KIDS AND YOUTH

No matter what age your children are, we have a place for them to connect with other kids their age and to grow in their faith in discovering more of Jesus. Our Kids Ministry programs all run during the Sunday morning service at Belmont High during school terms.

Creche
// 0-3
Creche has a play area at the back of the the church auditorium. You're welcome to use this area for your child to play during the service. There is a baby change table in the bathroom off the foyer.

Lakes' Kids
// Preschool - Year 5
Lakes' Kids uses games, activities and lessons from the Bible to help build an understanding and love for Jesus. They meet in the school's drama space, close to the auditorium.

Lakes' Youth
// Year 6 to 9
Our young people love to hang out together during the sermon to discuss relevant, and often challenging topics all while digging deep into what God has to say about getting older and living a fruitful life in Him.

WHY FAMILY?

We believe God doesn't just call us to love families, he calls us to be a part of His family; that is why families matter. From the great grandparents to the youngest new born baby, family is the heartbeat of God's church. This family transcends gender, race, social class and upbringing. It is a coming together and uniting of peoples created in the image of God.

At Lakes, we want to do life together the way that God always intended. That means having fun, eating food together, learning from each other and journeying through the tough stuff in life - all built on a foundation of love. Through this family, the Gospel will reach all corners of our wider community.

SAFE SPACES

We want to provide the safest environments possible where we are working with children and youth. Please be assured that every one of our leaders have done the Working with Children Check and have been trained in the Safe Spaces and aim to provide safe spaces as per the training.
