Our Story
In 2007, we saw a need for a contemporary church to be planted in the north-east of Lake Macquarie. In 2008 New Vine Lakes was launched with 45 people in the Eleebana School Hall. In time, we outgrew Eleebana hall and moved to a a newly built hall at Valentine Public School in 2012.

We are passionate about leading people to come alive in their faith in Jesus. This core mission statement underpins everything that we do at Lakes. We believe that life in all its fullness can only be found in a relationship with Jesus.

​Our Vision
We envisage a growing gathering of people in Lake Macquarie, hungry for the Presence of God, carrying His Presence to the city and beyond. When we envision the future, we see the life changing message of Jesus transforming communities all around us.

WHAT TO EXPECT

MORNINGS   //   9.30AM SUNDAYS

You can expect to find home at Lakes. Home means safety, comfort and relationship - regardless of age, stage or nationality. You can expect lively music, grounded and inspired Biblical teaching and a big portion of fun.

We love to have the younger ones involved as part of the family as much as possible.  We have  age-appropriate programs aimed to help them come alive in their faith during the service.

​Both Liz and I love Jesus, and we love His church.  We did a lot of growing up in New Vine Church at Maryland before God began calling us to plant a church.  In 2007 we gathered a small team and began meeting in our lounge room each week.  Over the next twelve months that group doubled in size and was pregnant with the idea of starting a church in the Lakes region.  We prayed about it and felt God lead us to start in Eleebana School Hall. 

We have four wonderful children.  I believe the best church service should always be experienced at home with your family.  And we have had some great times together following God's leading.

One of our biggest thrills is seeing people set free in Jesus name.  It is what gets us excited.  It is what we celebrate when we see it happen in our church.  It is what I am praying for and labouring for, and it is my prayer for you. We want to personally invite you to be part of this journey too, in setting people free in Jesus name.
