Healing Path to Wellness (HPTW), led by Craig and Michelle Sparrow, is a ministry which exists to alleviate the symptoms of those suffering mental anguish, chronic pain and special needs. HPTW provides an integrated pathway of support, healing, and hope for every individual. Since launching in August 2019, meeting in Gateway Church at Pelican, they have seen continual increase in the number of clients they have supported. HPTW has since expanded to two additional locations, in Morisset and Anna Bay.
2022 Review
HPTW had some fantastic opportunities to reach people in 2022. Across the three locations and via Telehealth there were 780 appointments and in excess of 180 guests. Their staff has grown to more than 50 Prayer team members and 19 counsellors, therapists, and coaches.
The past twelve months had a range of challenges as Craig and Michelee navigated Michelle’s ill-health with long covid symptoms. God provided Craig and Michelle with a great empathy for those living through chronic pain or long-term illness during this time. Early 2023 has seen some positive breakthrough and there is a sense that this is God’s time for Michelle’s recovery. Please be praying for this situation.

2023 Support
Looking ahead to 2023, HPTW has an opportunity to invest into the establishment of a suicide prevention hub which offers the public a peer-based support service. There has been a successful launch of a similar Hub in the Newcastle LGA in Hamilton. However, there is no hub located in Lake Macquarie. They are hoping to partner with this federal government initiative to establish a rented space in the Belmont area that would offer the public 2-3 days of contact of support in a non-clinical environment, assisting people with situational crisis that leads to suicidal ideation. Healing Path to Wellness would become a support resource to refer people onto from this public interface.
In addition, HPTW hope to establish another location in the Maitland area to cover the Upper Hunter.
