2022 Review
In 2022 HopeStreet started a regular prayer meeting and both a men’s and women’s group has recommenced with great conversations initiated about God. A new café space is providing a lovely environment with free barista coffee. Local mums are bringing their young children to a Music and Moves group.
Last year your support went towards the provision of care packs for over 50 women and families who were escaping domestic and family violence and re-establishing themselves. The packs included kitchen essentials, breakfast items, bedding and laundry/linen items. On top of this you personally donated items for 2 Christmas hampers, and toys were generously donated for families. The packs and gifts were received warmly by the men and women receiving them and the staff members who were able to hand them out on our behalf, encouraging them in their work.
Recently out of our excess giving in 2022, we were able to provide HopeStreet with $2,000 worth of grocery and petrol vouchers for their Caseworkers to distribute to those in need.

Message from a beautiful Music and Moves Mum:
"Have a wonderful morning this morning. I really appreciate you keeping in touch. Thank you for all for your care and support through some difficult hardship. We are doing really well and I have started working and the family are all doing great. I'm sorry we won't be able to join you all of a Tuesday anymore. Thank you for being there for families and best of all our children. I will never forget your care and hope". |
One of the beautiful women that New Vines Lakes supported with kitchen and laundry packs and donated furniture is now safely in her home with her 12-year-old son. She was encouraging another woman in our cafe this week who is currently homeless with a 6-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son. It was wonderful to see the connection and peer support as both women spoke of the challenges they share. This woman encouraged the other mum to engage with HopeStreet and let them help her and her family.
